Collège Université is a middle school that welcomes pupils aged between 11 and 15. It is named after the street where it is located, in the city centre of Reims. It hosts more than 500 pupils.
Project description
The school hosts a volunteer to implement non formal education activites. The aim is to promote learning in an unconventional way, especially concerning foreign languages. That can be through language conversation activities out of the class, through a movie club or any kind of active methods like roleplay, escape games, etc. The volunteer also takes part in educative projects about different topics related to citizenship education (environmental protection, gender equality, school bullying etc.). The volunteer will also have the opportunity to propose his/her own project to share the culture of his/her home country and he/she could also have to support pupils with learning difficulties. For instance Victoria, the current volunteer, proposed a the
atre club in English !
The volunteer takes part in the European projects of the College like, for instance, the European language day in September or the day of Europe in May.
Project environment
- Collège Université is located in the city center of Reims, a town with about 200 000 inhabitants. The volunteer will be provided with accomodation in a studio apartment and will be given money for food and trasports, but also pocket money.
